About Infringements

RentalCars247 can have hundreds of vehicles on the road at any one time, and it is inevitable that some people may unfortunately receive an infringement notice issued to the vehicle they are renting.

Typically, when an infringement notice is issued to one of our vehicles, we will receive notice in the mail.

When this happens, we are required by law to process a Statutory Declaration. The Statutory Declaration is a legal document to notify the issuer of the fine, who was responsible for the vehicle at the time of the infringement. This notice must be signed by someone from a Court of Law (Such as a Lawyer, Registrar of Court or Justice of the Peace), in person, before it can be sent to the issuer.

Once the Statutory Declaration is received by the issuer, they will re-issue the infringement in the renters name, and mail them a copy.

To complete this process, RentalCars247 charge a $50 administration fee for each infringement notice issued. A letter is sent via email to you when this occurs, with details of the Date/Time the infringement was issued, along with who issued it, and the relevant reference number.

To avoid receiving infringement notices, please be sure to follow road rules, adhere to speed limits, respect parking regulations and time limits, pay road tolls, avoid using mobile phones while driving and follow traffic signals and signs.

FAQ

Why have I been charged $50?

A $50 Administration Fee is charged when an infringement is received. This fee is to cover the administration cost of processing the Statutory Declaration.

Can you pay the fine for me and just charge my card?

No, we do not pay for the fine on your behalf. This would take away your right to dispute the infringement.

I was not aware of this fee

This fee is noted on the front of your Rental Agreement, and in our Terms and Conditions.

I think this fine has been issued in error

If you believe there has been an error with the issuing of the infringement, you will need to contact the issuer of the fine to discuss directly with them.

Will I be charged the Admin Fee for each fine?

Yes, a $50 Administration fee is charged for each infringement where we need to complete a Statutory Declaration
